Our annual Memorial Day parade and Remembrance Ceremony will bring the community together in remembrance and appreciation on Monday, May 28 at 10:00am. The parade will follow its traditional route, starting at Sutherland High School, marching down Jefferson Road to Main Street and culminating at the Pittsford Cemetery for a moving ceremony (procession to enter on Washington Road). New York State Assemblyman Joseph Errigo will speak at the post-parade Remembrance Ceremony. More information and a complete program agenda can be found on our Memorial Day web page.
The Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will include patriotic performances by the Pittsford Fire Department Band, Harold McAulliffe, and members of the Pittsford Mendon High School Band. Town Supervisor Bill Smith, Village Mayor Bob Corby, Pittsford Fire Department Chief Ryan Furber, Reverend Robert Ring of St. Louis Church, Vietnam War veteran Danny Barnes, and Rayson Miller American Legion Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Commander Jefrey Mason will place wreaths to honor and remember Pittsford military veterans. The Pittsford American Legion Honor Guard will provide a 21 Gun Salute to honor the fallen.
Following the ceremony, the Rayson-Miller American Legion Post 899 will host a reception at Post headquarters (21 N. Main Street, in the lower level of Village Hall). Don't miss this opportunity to show your gratitude for those who gave their lives in wartime service to our country and to thank all of our veterans. More information and a complete program agenda can be found on our Memorial Day web page.
